UAB Comprehensive Community Mental Health Center offers numerous mental health services. They include the following:
1. Evaluation Clinic – Evaluation Clinic is the entry way to services here and the point at which eligibility for continued treatment is determined for persons that meet criteria for serious mental illness, which include functional impairment. Those who come for evaluation will be seen by medical students, residents in psychiatry, or psychiatric social workers for initial screening followed by assessment and possible treatment by an attending psychiatrist. 2. Psychotherapy Service – Psychotherapy services offer individual, family and group psychotherapy.
3. Engel Adult Day Treatment Program – Engel Adult day Treatment Program is offered to patients ages 19-64 who have been diagnosed with a serious mental illness and functional impairment. Services are available Monday and Friday, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM, and Tuesday thru Thursday, 8:30 AM-2:30 PM.
4. The UAB Engel School , a component of the UAB Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, is a language based outpatient treatment and educational facility serving school age children (K-12).
