The North Shelby Library is hosting a National Medicare Education Week event on September 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.. This event is the perfect opportunity for seniors to interact with a healthcare expert and ask questions about upcoming Medicare changes. Medicare education is important because health care decisions can have a significant impact on the well-being – and wallets – of seniors and other Medicare beneficiaries. Medicare is not a one-size-fits-all program, and making the right coverage choices requires thoughtful planning.
The presentation will allow seniors to learn about the basics of Medicare, as well as how to determine which coverage plan works best for their health and budget needs. The health care representative will also explain the impact upcoming Medicare changes could have on seniors. Other resources available to seniors with more information on Medicare will also be identified.
Refreshments and take away items will be provided at the event, and ample parking is available for seniors. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. Please call 1-866-890-2242 to RSVP or visit NMEW.com.
