The M-POWER Health Center is the only free medical clinic in Jefferson County, providing acute medical care to the uninsured and underinsured. The medical team is comprised of doctors, nurses and other medical professionals who volunteer from local hospitals, clinics, and private practices. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays’ registration begins at 3:00 PM for the walk-in evening clinics. Registration ends when the clinic is full.

EFFECTIVE 8/1/12 – Dental services are no longer offered at M-Power.

Beginning Tuesday, December 4th, 2012, there is also a new clinic. The Interprofessional Diabetes Follow-up Clinic (By Referral and Appointment Only) is part of a UAB/HRSA/MPOWER collaboration. Physicians from the Division of Endocrinology, nurse practitioners, dietitian, social workers, mental health, optometrists and other professionals are participating in this effort which is led by the UAB School of Nursing.
