Exercising together is a great way to have fun with the family and stay healthy at the same time. There are many simple things that you can do to get the whole family active. You can do things like walking the dog together, scheduling a weekly sports night, riding your bikes around your neighborhood, going for a walk before or after dinner[1], going to the pool or park on weekends, exercising during commercials, play tag in the backyard, or go roller or ice skating together.

Here are some great activities that are going on in the Birmingham area that your whole family can participate in:

Family Yoga at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens

Free Zumba Classes at Railroad Park (Wednesdays at 6 pm)

Hikes for Tykes at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens

Mommy and Me Time Fitness Classes

My Diabetes Connect Walking Group (every Wednesday morning 7:30 am at Railroad park)
